Progressive Concrete is a licensed concrete contractor through the California State License Board and wants you to be educated to the topics of concrete so that you will get the results you are looking for.
Specifics one should ask a concrete company when shopping around:

What is the psi level of the concrete?
PSI (Pounds Per Square Inch) tells how much weight the concrete can withstand. The psi depends on the weight and activity on the concrete. Progressive Concrete typically pours concrete with 2,500-5,000 psi. Progressive Concrete recommends various psi levels on a case-by-case basis.

What type and size of rock do you use when you pour concrete?
Progressive Concrete uses 1" minus instead of pea gravel. Because the 1" minus is larger than pea gravel, it makes the concrete more durable.

What type of reinforcement do you use?
Progressive Concrete uses reinforcement in all pours, unless it is specified not to. Reinforcement helps reduce cracking and separation by adding strength. Progressive Concrete recognizes the importance of this so Progressive Concrete uses #3, #4, #5 rebar as well as fiber mix, wire welded mesh, and dowels.

How thick do you pour the concrete for a job like mine?
Progressive Concrete typically pours 4" thick concrete, unless on driveways or areas where there will be heavy items/vehicles, then Progressive Concrete typically pour 5.5" to 6" thick. Thickness is based on a case-by-case basis.

Does your company have a license, insurance, and workmen’s comp?
Progressive Concrete has it all! Progressice Concrete is licensed through the California Contractors State License Board. Protecting yourself is always a good thing. Many concrete companies out there do not have these necessary protections like Progressive Concrete does. If a worker is injured on the job and the company you are working with does not have a license, insurance, and/or worker's comp they can hold the homeowner liable. Since Progressive Concrete is licensed, you can sleep better knowing that your job is handled by a qualified and experienced concrete contractor

Does your company offer unconditional waivers?

Progressive Concrete does! An unconditional wavier releases the customer of any charges after the contracted amount is billed.

Do you have a Supervisor/Foreman present on every job, at all times? And, do they speak English?
Progressive Concrete has a Foreman/Supervisor on every job that speaks English. Often times other companies will leave their men unattended/unmanaged and it creates problems when the homeowner cannot communicate with them.

    *Concrete Tips from Progressive Concrete:
Concrete will crack. Anyone who guarantees that it does not is incorrect. Saw cuts may be added to help reduce cracking while also adding an aesthetic look.
